THE YOUNG CALYPSONIANS who have made it to the preliminaries of the 2014 Scotiabank Junior Calypso Monarch competition have been announced.
The reigning monarch in the 8 to 12 category Quinn Quinn P Prescott will be joining those contending for the title in the 13 to 18 category this year while the reigning 13-18 winner Charice Honesty Walrond now has her eyes set on the Pic-O-De-Crop competition.
In the 8-12 category are Black Beauty, Dynamo, Jada T, Jade Grant, Jatanya, Kiki, Kiki Boo, Mighty Makeda, Raanan, Star Fire and Sugar Ant.
AD-DEE-LAH, De MC, DJ, Jamal Slocombe, Kadeem, Lady Nica, Mhizz-Z, Mighty KT, Nubian Queen, R.J, Sammy G, Sparkle T and Tall Boy will compete in the 13-18 category.
The semifinals will be on July 5 and the finals on July 19.
