De Great Carew passed on nineteen years ago, but his memory and contribution to Crop Over live on.
The man who brought lots of joy with songs like Mad Woman Jam, which won the Road March title in 1992, and Snakes In De Grass was celebrated yesterday during a brief ceremony at the site where his house stood at Weston, St James, during an unofficial stop of the Crop Over Crawl.
Wreaths were laid at the foot of a portrait of Carew, and select tunes from his repertoire were played as a mark of respect.
