A?WARNING?has gone out to shopkeepers that selling cigarettes to minors is bad for business.
And that message was reinforced yesterday as a team of environmental health officers cased a number of outlets warning proprietors that to sell tobacco to minors contravened legislation that said cigarettes were not to be sold to persons under the age of 18.
The visits, which came on the eve of World No Tobacco Day, was led by Senior Medical Officer of Health Dr Kenneth George. Posters were also distributed to the businesses warning that selling tobacco to minors was prohibited.
The exercise began at the corner of Westbury and Baxters Road and moved out to Bridgetown.
