A limousine ride and lunch at Champers Restaurant with Governor General Sir Elliott Belgrave marked the final day for Pearline Greaves as assistant registrar of the Land Registry Department.
As Greaves exited the Warrens Government office for the final time yesterday, her husband, retired assistant commissioner of police Morgan Greaves, had a limousine waiting which ushered her family and friends to the restaurant where they met with Sir Elliott and Lady Belgrave.
Pearline, a niece of Sir Elliott, said she gave 41 years of service starting as court clerk in the Supreme Court before being appointed to the Land Registry in 1988.
With her retirement coming just before her birthday, Pearline said she was happy to mark that time in her life.
Morgan, who retired just over two years ago, said he was looking forward to his wife of more than 35 years being at home with him. One of the activities they would be attending more often would be Q In The Community. He described his wife her a very pleasant person who made him happy. (LK)
