A BARBADIAN living overseas is being recruited to head this island’s newly established tourism agency.
What’s more, that agency, the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc (BTMI), one of two entities replacing the Barbados Tourism Authority (BTA), could go into operation as early as next week.
BTA chairman Adrian Elcock told the SATURDAY?SUN yesterday that having identified the chief executive following a global search “we are just going through the process now of negotiating terms and conditions and getting ministry approval”.
On the other hand, no one has so far been identified to head the second agency, the Barbados Tourism Product Authority (BTPA), which is anticipated to be in place by the end of this month.
