Not even the brightness of the emerging moon could roll away the darkness that enveloped this Kingsland, Christ Church section of the ABC Highway last night, the result of a long stretch of missing street lamps. Inset, another darkened section of the highway.

Overall, the MIDWEEK NATION counted more than 180 missing poles and a further 200 lights that were not working.

However, Government is promising a major relief effort involving lighting up the ABC Highway and streets all across the island with more than 25 000 LED lights.
