‘Give City a lift’

Bridgetown should get a city manager to look after its affairs.

But in the meantime, chief operations officer at Sagicor Life Inc. has called on his fellow corporate citizens and residents of the City to come together to revitalise the island’s capital.

J. Edward Clarke made his comments moments before the capital came alive with hundreds of colourful lights in the Sagicor Life Lighting Ceremony in Heroes Square yesterday evening.

Noting that Bridgetown once had a mayor that looked after its affairs, Clarke said while the city might not want to go back to those days, officials should look into appointing someone who would look after its operations. (HLE)
