COME JANUARY 1, LIME landline customers will have to pay nearly $5 to get their printed bills, so that they can pay them, as the company ramps up its ebilling programme.
In a statement yesterday, LIME explained that it conducted a survey to test consumers’ appetite for ebilling and 60 per cent said they preferred electronic bills.
That means those who insist on getting a bill each month in their hands from the company for a paper trail of their payments, for example, would have to pay $4.68. However, if customers want to receive their bills via the Internet, that service is free.
Notice of the company’s action will be on this month’s bills.
It is understood that customers 65 years and over are exempted from this. Part of the funds collected from this new system are to go towards a green charity, the name of which will be announced shortly. (SP)
