18 months for 119 packages of cannabis

A MAN WHO PASSED 119 packages of cannabis will now be spending the next 18 months at HMP Dodds.

Jamaican national Steve O’Neil Williams, appeared at the Oistins Magistrates Court today and pleaded guilty to possession, possession with intent to supply, trafficking and importation of cannabis weighing two-and-a-half pounds.

Williams was convicted, remanded and discharged on all charges except possession, but was unable to pay the $25 000 fine.

The 40-year-old arrived in Barbados on November 26. He was interviewed by police at the Grantley Adams International Airport after clearing immigration and was referred to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he passed the drugs. (PR/SAT)
