The name Kathy Harper-Hall is synonymous with sport in Barbados, particularly in the administration of netball and boxing but she has also made her mark in athletics.

After dedicating her life to sport for the past five decades, the 76-year-old Harper-Hall was belatedly awarded a service medal in the Independence Day honours for her sterling contribution to sport, especially netball.

Her award has not gone unnoticed by the Barbados Netball Association (BNA), with the body congratulating its former president on receiving the honour.

“She continues to be beacon that several of us look up to. Mrs Harper-Hall is a living encyclopaedia that many of us still utilises. She has mentored me for my current role of president of the BNA,” Nisha Craigwell told SUNSPORT.
