Trotman wins 8th jockey’s title

ANDERSON TROTMAN is once again the undisputed champion jockey of Barbados.

The quiet and naturally talented contracted rider for the powerful Hopefield Stable won title number eight as the Barbados Turf club’s 2014 racing year ended on Boxing Day at the Garrison Savannah last Friday.

Trotman had started the day in an unassailable position nine wins clear of his nearest rival Reshawn Latchman.

Latchman, who had started off 2014 like a raging hot wildfire, could stay in front only so long, and Trotman quickly extinguished those flames as he eventually made this passage to the title a one-way procession.

Having sewn up season one – Bubba’s Sunday Buffet and Breakfast Jockey Challenge – with 16 wins, Trotman had few problems in season two – the Always Bigger Bubba’s Jockey Challenge – winning 11 races.
