Marshall tipped for UN post

Barbados will soon have a new Ambassador to the United Nations.

According to highly placed sources at the UN in New York and in Bridgetown, the country’s next permanent representative to the world body is going to be Keith H. L. “Tony” Marshall, an Independent senator, retired senior banking executive and a former chairman of the National Insurance Scheme.

If appointed by Prime Minister Freundel Stuart, Marshall, who had a successful career at Barclays Bank for more than a quarter of a century, would succeed Joseph Goddard, who returned home several days ago from New York after serving at the world body for four years.
