Central Bank shake-up coming

The Central Bank will be undergoing a major restructuring this year.

Governor Dr DeLisle Worrell spoke to the issue on Monday when he addressed staff during a video streaming session.

Some staff members who spoke to the MIDWEEK NATION said it appeared as if most of the very senior managers at the bank would be affected by the exercise.

The staff said only three of the existing senior management team would be retained and identified them as Elson Gaskin, Michelle Doyle-Lowe and Janice Marville. It is uncertain what will happen with deputy governor Harold Codrington, who may be retiring later this year.

It is expected that the bank will be meeting with the Barbados Workers’ Union (BWU) on the planned restructuring exercise as it relates to members. (ES)
