Promoters looking to host shows at Farley Hill National Park now have to look for a whopping $12 000 to pay the National Conservation Commission (NCC).
This is among a new roster of fees being imposed by the commission after the recent approval of the Freundel Stuart Cabinet. According to sources, this fee for entertainment events has been raised from $8 000.
However, one of Farley Hill’s longest serving commercial renters is not complaining. Al Gilkes of FAS Entertainment, organisers of the annual Reggae On The Hill, said: “Let me put it this way, $8 000 was considered comfortable, but less than reasonable and we therefore can’t complain about $12 000.”
