‘Scare tactic’

FEAR NOT.

President of the Barbados Union of Teachers (BUT), Pedro Shepherd, had those two words for the hundreds of teachers who responded to the union’s call to attend an urgent general meeting at the Sir Hugh Springer Auditorium at the Barbados Workers’ Union headquarters on Tuesday morning.

Following that meeting, Minister of Education Ronald Jones said the action was akin to a withdrawal of labour and “will be so treated”.

Shepherd said the union did not intend to be distracted from proceeding with the cause of his members by the minister’s statements.
