GRAMMY AWARD-WINNING American Christian music artiste Israel Houghton is the headline act for this year’s Barbados Gospelfest.
The worship leader and singer-songwriter mostly known for his cross-cultural style of Christian music that fuses elements from gospel, jazz, rock and reggae, is down to perform at the annual festival on May 30 at the Garfield Sobers Gymnasium.
Coordinator of the festival Adrian Agard said today that Houghton was the first major artiste to confirm his participation in the festival, which runs from May 23 to May 31.
Organisers of the festival promote it as the Caribbean’s premier gospel series of events. (TY)
