It was chaos in the Chapman Lane/New Orleans, St Michael area as police came under heavy criticism.
The drama unfolded when a young man, reported to be Rico Gaskin, also known as “Cocoa”, was allegedly shot in the back by members of the Special Services Unit (SSU) as he fled from them.
Irate residents said the action of the police officers was unconscionable, with cries of “foolishness” and “shooting for no reason” as well as a concern for the children in the area.
“Two Task Force men with big guns run through here shooting and shoot a man that was running away in he back. They had we children on the pasture running for their lives,” said one woman. (CA)
