Professional services firm Deloitte Barbados has again recognised the contribution of its staff.

This took place recently when the company held its annual awards ceremony and luncheon. Mary Weekes of the tax department received the firms’ highest annual award, the Spirit Of Deoloitte.

Deloitte’s senior manager, marketing and business development, Renatta Mohammed, said this accolade was “bestowed on an individual that rises above and beyond excellence in professional and personal development”.

Jermaine Wilson of the firm’s IT department, who was overseas and therefore absent from the ceremony, was Employee Of The Year “as a result of excellence in internal customer service”.

Also in the spotlight with long-service awards were Christine Debique and Lillian Alleyne-Griffith. They were recognised by Deloitte Barbados for giving 15 years of dedicated service to it and its clients. While Debique is a senior manager, audit and assurance, Alleyne-Griffith is a senior administrator.

“They have both been adding value beyond the audit,” Mohammed said.

There were also prizes awarded for Best Dressed Professional (Male), won by Roland Iton of the audit department. Andra Serieux-Kirton, also of the audit department, was named Best Dressed Professional (Female).

Mohammed added: “Deloitte’s people are conscious of confidentiality of information and committed to maintaining internal security measures. In 2014 Deloitte’s Caribbean Cluster hosted a Security Awareness Week, replete with a competition. Elizabeth  Cave-Ferdinand, administration, Deloitte Barbados, won that regional competition and received her award.”
