As the countdown to the 10th annual Barbados Music Awards (BMA) continues, the international acts have been landing in the island.
Yesterday saw the arrival of Boris Kodjoe, who will be sharing the mic with local boy Kirk Brown as hosts of the awards slated for the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre tomorrow at 8 p.m.
Kodjoe, a 41-year-old actor, is no stranger to Barbados having been here about four times before. He said he was never part of the BMAs but was looking forward to the show.
“I have been a big fan of Caribbean music for a long time,” he told reporters at the Grantley Adams International Airport.
R&B legend Shirley Murdock also touched down on Thursday night.
“I am excited to be here. This is a big event for Barbados and I really feel honoured to be here. I heard that I have a lot of fans, so I have an opportunity to sing . . . ,” a bubbly Murdock told the local media in the arrival hall. (JS)
