Three first-time females are among nine new drivers entered in the Barbados Karting Association (BKA) Frutee Championship which will open next month.
Entered in the EasyKart group which has been added in tandem with the current BKA groups for the new season, Barbados Motoring Federation (BMF) president Andrew Mallalieu said it’s a whole new era for the sport in Barbados.
“It is the cradle of motor sport and all the great names got their beginnings in karting and I may be looking at a future Formula 1, DTM or World Rally Champion in this room now. It’s a great opportunity for everyone who has the commitment and the determination to move forward,” the BMF president said.
