Still the kings and queens after greening up the scene.

Green House defended their title at the Luther Thorne junior house sports at the National Stadium yesterday.

They emerged with 317 points, beating second-place yellow by 45 points. Christoph Yearwood and Krishanya Smith dominated their respective divisions to lead the champions to the winners’ circle.

Luther Thorne came a close second in NAPSAC last year and if they are to maintain that position or rise to the top this season,Yearwood will shoulder a lot of responsibility in achieving their goals.

He was impressive  among the Under-13s, with victories in the 100 metres in 13:78 seconds, the 200m in 30:06 seconds and the 400m in 1:10:25. Smith proved to be the pocket rocket in the Under-9 girls with three wins in the same events as Yearwood.

She dominated the 100m in 15:09 seconds, the 200m in 33:12 seconds and the 400m in 1:22.94.

Yellow bird Yazid Daniel flew away from the Under-11 boys with another triple treat.

He made light work of his opponents in the 100 metres and 400m but saved his best for the 200m, heating up the track with 29:94 seconds, which was even better than what Yearwood had produced earlier in an older age group.

Red House placed third  with 220 points and this was due mainly to a young female enforcer named Donesha Barnett.

She shared a lot of licks in the Under-9s with victories in the 80m (12.43 seconds), 100m (16.43 seconds), 150m (24:97 seconds) and just to prove she’s a lass with a big appetite for winning, she cleaned up the bean bag novelty event.

Blue house came fourth on 208 points but they found a star in Kezia Clarke who was also a three-time winner in the Under-11 girls. She earned victories in the 100m in 15:09 seconds, the 200m in 31:19 seconds and the 400m in 1:16:00.
