THE BARBADOS WORKERS’ Union has stated that contrary to media reports, the name of its representative on the Employment Rights Tribunal, was submitted to the Ministry of Labour since December 19, 2014.
In a release issued today, the BWU said this was reiterated to the Minister of Labour Senator Dr Esther Byer at a meeting held at the Ministry on Monday, January 12, 2015.
“The notion is being circulated that the Barbados Workers’ Union along with the National Union of Public Workers and the Barbados Employers’ Confederation has not submitted the name of its representative to sit on the Employment Rights Tribunal up to today.Â
“The Barbados Workers’ Union is very keen to have all matters brought to the Employment Rights Tribunal heard expeditiously and will in no way cause delay to the justice being sought by its members,” the statement said. (PR/NB)
