KRAIGG BRATHWAITE scored another regional half century and Barbados Pride posted a challenging 168 for four off 36 overs in their NAGICO Super50 cricket match against Guyana Jaguars.

A delay of more than three hours for rain did not put a damper on opener Brathwaite who scored 73 off 101 balls with six fours and one six at the Queen’s Park Oval. He was eventually run out by Devendra Bishoo trying to take a single that was not on.

Brathwaite featured in a 67-run opening partnership with Shai Hope who was caught behind by wicketkeeper Anthony Bramble off Esuan Crandon.

Veteran Ryan Hinds played a critical role with 37 off 36 balls. He came in when the score was 89 for three after Kirk Edwards (7) and Shamarh Brooks (6) fell in quick succession to Bishoo and Christopher Barnwell, respectively.

Hinds steadied the innings and stroke Barbados’ second six off the penultimate over to help push the score. Ashley Nurse chipped in with 11, opting for power rather than placement, and wasted quite a few deliveries when he did not connect.

Summarised scores:

Barbados Pride 168-4 in 36 overs (Kraigg Brathwaite 73, Ryan Hinds 37 n.o., Shai Hope 26, Ashley Nurse 11 n.o.) vs Guyana Jaguars.
