BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – The Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI) has again acknowledged another overseas-based Barbadian as a prime advocate for the island as a holiday destination.
Barbados-born chef Natasha Bernardez, who recently flew the Barbados flag high on the third season of ABC Network’s The Taste received a warm welcome home last Saturday by Chairman of the Board of Directors of the BTMI, Alvin Jemmott, along with BTMI CEO William ‘Billy’ Griffith.
CEO Griffith acknowledged Bernardez’s value as an ambassador of the Barbados brand not only through her high-profile television appearances, but also thanks to her prowess in culinary arts.
Bernardez’s camp has confirmed that she will be featured on another mega-network in the USA in the near future.
She was awarded a James Beard Scholarship in 2010, and also appeared on the Food Network’s Cut Throat Kitchen Series.
She now joins other visible Barbadian on the international arena that have lent their celebrity to promoting the island’s tourism, including former offensive tackle for the Baltimore Ravens Ramon Harewood and singing sensation Rihanna. (PR)
