Sixteen injured in Wanstead

POLICE ARE STILL investigating a mass casualty at Wanstead Road, St James.

Public relations officer, acting assistant superintendent David Welch, said 16 people were injured following a collision between a route taxi and a truck, which occurred around 1:40 p.m. this afternoon.

The driver of the route taxi had to be cut from the vehicle by members of the Barbados Fire Service and was said to be the most seriously injured. He was at the time carrying 12 passengers and a conductor.

The truck driver and his lone passenger complained of injuries. (YB)
