TELL US WHAT is causing the natural gas shortage so we can make alternative arrangements for our businesses.

That was the blunt message from president of the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association (BHTA), Sunil Chatrani, yesterday to the National Petroleum Corporation (NPC) and Government as hotels and restaurants continue to be plagued with low pressure or outages of their natural gas supply.

Chatrani said the constant problems with natural gas had cost hotels and restaurants hundreds of thousands of dollars in loss of business and compensating guests for the inconvenience.

He added it was not good enough that the association had not been kept up to date on what was happening so its members could plan effectively to overcome this situation. (SP)
