‘Stand out, stand up’

GENERAL SECRETARY of the Barbados Workers’ Union (BWU), Toni Moore, was provocative during her maiden address at the union’s annual Family Fun Day to mark Errol Barrow Day yesterday.

Moore’s address focused on the need to break the mould, something she said the BWU did with her, at least twice.

“Indeed, the fact that I stand before you this morning as this organisation’s first female general secretary signifies that fact, but not merely because I’m a woman, but also because the 73th Annual Delegates’ Conference of the Barbados Workers’ Union. . . .
