PRIME MINISTER OF ST VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES, Dr Ralph Gonsalves, is still on the clock, trying to save the blushes of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB).
And’s he’s hoping the powerful Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) will now look favourably upon a new piece of correspondence which was sent their way by CARICOM’s cricket committee on Monday.
Speaking on a live Sportsmax television programme from Kingston, Jamaica, on Monday night, Gonsalves said the correspondence was aimed at bridging tensions between the BCCI and the WICB, in an effort to reach a solution agreeable to both sides.
The BCCI had given the WICB up to yesterday to officially respond to their claim of compensation in the range of US$42 milion for the West Indies’ sudden withdrawal from a tour of India last October. (BA)
