Beach bawl

JET SKI OPERATORS claim businessman Sean DeFreitas is bad-mouthing them to tourists who use Browne’s Beach and ruining any chance of the operators making money.

But DeFreitas countered the jet ski operators were their own worst enemies, running customers with their unruly behaviour on the beach and he has taken action to look after the safety of his patrons and the reputation of his business.

Jet ski operator David Layne, who appeared to be most vocal of the group, said yesterday DeFreitas was “actually telling the tourists to do not do no watersports with the licensed guys that have a licence to operate on the beach”.
