SOME SEX HEALTH PROFESSIONALS are concerned about the dangers rough sex is posing to men and women.
A veteran gynaecologist said aggressive sex is causing severe bruising in women and can lead to penile fractures in men.
He said with young women who are not very sexually experienced such vigorous sex causes tears and cuts. The same can occur in men, especially those not circumcised.
“As for rough sex and especially positions which would cause deep penetration, if the lady has a retroverted uterus (tilted back) that puts the ovaries in what we call the firing range, where the penis will hit it and if that is the case, then she will get painful sex. Some ladies would get small tears at the vulva from rough sex every time they have sex,” said the gynaecologist, who requested anonymity given the nature of the topic.
