It could cost Government in the region of $2 million to provide a road for the residents of White Hill, St Andrew, following last year’s massive landslide.
This was revealed by Minister of Transport and Works Michael Lashley, who told the MIDWEEK NATION on Monday that despite this high cost, Government was committed to providing access from Hillaby to the rural village.
He explained that considerable progress had been made on the project with two alternatives being reviewed – the rebuilding of the damaged road and the construction of a new access away from the area of the slide.
