Probe ‘sick’ school


The Barbados Secondary Teachers’ Union (BSTU) is demanding an investigation into what is making staff at Combermere School sick.

And its president Mary Redman also wants to see a recent environmental report on the Waterford, St Michael institution after teachers started falling ill and a member of the support staff briefly hospitalised after passing out.

During a meeting on Monday at the school, at least 14 people spoke about their experience within the last school year and Redman said the union was writing the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Labour and the board of the school on the matter.
