AN INTENSE VERBAL CLASH is expected today in the High Court when a major development in the unfolding CLICO saga occurs.
Attorneys for the Financial Services Commission (FSC) are seeking to stop the unsealing of the forensic audit report on CLICO International Life Insurance Limited (CIL), while those representing CIL through the judicial manager (JM), Deloitte Consulting Limited, are seeking to lift the veil off the report as was done with the first one.
The Forensic Audit of CLICO International Life Insurance Limited (under Judicial Management) Report, dated June 21, 2013, was sealed by Justice William Chandler on July 13, 2013. The audit was conducted to further ascertain the liabilities and assets of CIL, as well as to identify and secure any documents, records and transactions that would give a clear picture of the company’s true financial state.
