RESIDENTS OF ASHBY LAND, Christ Church, were sent scurrying in fear after a low-flying Air Canada aircraft made an emergency return to Grantley Adams International Airport (GAIA) yesterday evening.
They told the WEEKEND NATION that such an occurrence was not new to the area, which is situated to the east of Oistins, but is nevertheless harrowing each time.
“This is the third time something like this happen to we out here. Years ago one almost try to land on top of KFC,” said Cicely Drayton, who was visiting family at the time.
The shaken woman said she was at her mother’s home around 5 p.m. when a loud noise startled her and she ran outside.
