IT WAS a good day for the thousands of Anglicans who descended on the Gymnasium of the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex to be part of the church’s annual diocesan service yesterday.
The faithful sat unflinchingly through the near four-hour service led by Bishop Dr John Holder and sermonised by visiting Anglican Bishop from the diocese of Toronto, Barbadian-born Peter Fenty.
The religious production was aced with excellent singing both from the choir members drawn from across Barbados, tasteful musical selections orchestrated by The Barbados Defence Force Band, the virtuoso stylings of trumpeter Matthew Banfield and the aspiring vocals of little Brian Nicholls. Scores of congregants also took the opportunity to take communion.
