16-year-old remanded on gun charges

SIXTEEN-YEAR-OLD Roshawn Romario Gibbs was remanded to HMP Dodds for a month after appearing in court today on firearms charges.

Gibbs, of 3rd Avenue, Wilkinson Road, Richmond Gap, St Michael, was charged with illegal possession a shot gun, unlawful possession of one round of ammunition and possession of a pair of camouflage pants.

Police conducted an operation in the Waterford, St Michael area on Sunday, when a motor car was intercepted with Gibbs and other persons. A subsequent search of the vehicle by Police discovered one 12-gauge shotgun. 

Gibbs appeared in the District A Magistrates Court today. He was remanded and is scheduled to reappear on March 11. (PR/SAT)
