BEVERLEY HINDS’ sleep was disturbed on Monday afternoon when a bullet pierced her home, almost striking her.

Hinds, of Perfection Road, Bush Hall, St Michael, was in bed when the bullet came through her concrete board wall and lodged under her bed head.

“I was lying in my bed and I heard ‘pax, pax’ and I just froze. I heard the windows shaking and said this had to be a gunshot,” she said.

Hinds, who suffers with diabetes and hypertension and has had two toes and a part of her right foot amputated, said she soon discovered the source of the vibrations that rattled her windows.

Upon inspection, she noticed a small hole in the concrete board wall and, following its trajectory, realised her bedroom now contained an unwelcome guest – a bullet.
