THE COMMUNITY OF SPRING FARM, St Thomas, was shocked yesterday at the news of the gruesome killing of a young man who was well respected in the area.

Many who gathered around the home of Lamar Devere Carter, 22, expressed disbelief, not only at his death but at the manner of it.

The MIDWEEK NATION understands the discovery came about after motorists came across a car in the wee hours of yesterday which they thought had been in an accident. However, as they approached it, shots were fired and the motorists drove off, reporting the licence plate number to the police.

Upon investigating, police came across the car around 1:20 a.m., pursuing the vehicle from Norwoods, St James, to Mangrove, St Thomas, where the male driver stopped. He and his male front seat passenger exited and escaped through some nearby bushes.
