QUICK ACTION by fire officers from the nearby Worthing Fire Station averted a major blaze in the densely populated Rendezvous Gardens, Christ Church.

Last night’s fire left one stone house partially damaged.

The house, which was inherited from a deceased grandparent last October, suffered total damage to one of its two bedrooms with the roof of the other bedroom being severely burnt.

The grandson, who shares the home with two other persons, was home alone at the time of the blaze which occurred around 8:10 p.m.

The house next door, Altrio, suffered soot damage to its wall and the roof closest to the blaze.  (KB)
