TAMPERING IS ONE of the major issues facing security officials at the Barbados Port.
While not quantifying the number of incidents which have been recorded, manager of security services Anthony Benn said people had been messing with the security seals.
“You have to be sharp in terms of your inspection to ensure that the seal that it was secured with at the point of origin, is the seal that you receive it with and not in terms only of numbers. All of them have a unique number, but we’ve seen instances in the past where those numbers have been replicated, so the seal looks the same. There are some things that we look for to ensure the integrity of the seal,” Benn explained.
