PERTH – Chris Gayle isn’t ready to talk retirement from Test cricket as yet, but he is monitoring a recurring back injury which may force him to further scale down his appearances for the West Indies.
The powerful 35-year-old batsman has expressed his love for the five-day format over the 50-overs or T20 version, but has revealed that he is waiting until after the ICC World Cup to assess how he can juggle the demands of Test cricket with a “crazy” international schedule.
“I still have the passion for Test cricket. All it is that lately my back has pushed me away from Test cricket and to be able to go five days has been tough,” said Gayle in an interview with Line & Length Network.
