WHEN CHRISTOPHER GAYLE blasted his 19th One-Day International century against New Zealand in Napier in January 2009, Virat Kohli had just one 50.

Kohli has played 153 matches, Gayle has played 267. Gayle averages 37, Kohli, 52.
