ADELAIDE, Australia (AP) – England coach Peter Moores says his players are well aware of their shortcoming and are eager to prove their worth as they play for Cricket World Cup survival against Bangladesh in a Pool A match Monday.
England need to win their last two pool matches against Bangladesh and Afghanistan to have any chance of reaching the quarter-finals.
After opening their tournament with big losses to co-hosts Australia and New Zealand, England had a win over second-tier Scotland before another convincing defeat to Sri Lanka last week.
Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza is approaching the match from a different perspective, with his lineup believing it is on the verge of advancing to the World Cup quarter-finals for the first time.
