THE TALENT of the disabled was on show yesterday when the National Disabilities Unit held an expo at the National Union of Public Workers grounds.
Held under the theme An All-inclusive Society – Empowering Persons With Disabilities, the expo brought together a number of organisations and schools in an effort to raise awareness about the role of the disabled in Barbados.
Acting director of the unit, Diana Haynes, said the expo was part of the unit’s public awareness campaign which attempted to keep the issues of the disabled in the forefront of people’s minds.
She added it was being held to clarify any misconceptions, stereotypes and to combat any discrimination which might exist. (HLE)
