WI chase quarterfinal place

THE WEST INDIES, led by some incisive fast bowling from skipper Jason Holder and Jerome Taylor, were poised to win their final preliminary match of the World Cup in New Zealand even tough the United Arab Emirates (UAE) were fighting back up to press time last night.

In the first hour of play at Napier, the UAC were tottering at 46 for six after 13.5 overs. However, UAE recovered to make 175 off 47.4 overs. (MK)
