TWO MISSED PENALTIES and an expulsion summed up Barbados senior men’s football team performance last Sunday night at the National Stadium when they were defeated 1-0 by the United States Virgin Islands (USVI).

Jamie Browne scored his second international goal in the 16th minute to shock the local fans and place huge smile on the face of USVI Football Association president Hillaren Frederick who was present to see he his team secure just their fourth ever win on the international stage.

A hopeless thump down the pitch was misread by two Barbados defenders and goalkeeper Dario Weir and Browne with a burst of pace, ran by both defenders, to lob the ball over the head of the advancing goalkeeper who was caught in “no-man’s land”. (ROG)
