Warriors beat Cavs in close game

HILTON BARBADOS WARRIORS sure look to be back in form.

So too a certain former MVP.

Corey McDonald had a game-high 29 points, and David “Ernie” Smith scored the go-ahead basket with 1:09 left, as Warriors held on for Saturday’s last-second 85-84 win over Station Hill Cavaliers in the Co-operators General Insurance Basketball Premier League at the Barbados Community College.

The victory was the second straight for a Warriors side that lost two in a row after flying out the gates to start the season with four straight wins.

More importantly though, the game showed some promising signs for McDonald, who hasn’t been the same elite all-talent for the last four years while dealing with injuries to his knees and Achilles tendon.
