Another call for BWU to return

THE CONGRESS of Trade Unions and Staff Association of Barbados (CTUSAB) is offering the Barbados Workers’ Union (BWU) another olive branch for Labour Day.

However, it appears relations between the two entities remain strained as the latter has so far been unresponsive to any talks on reconciliation after the BWU broke away two years ago.

General secretary Dennis de Peiza, speaking yesterday at CTUSAB’s headquarters at Beckles Road, St Michael, said Barbados had a tradition of trade union solidarity and they remained committed to inter-union harmony. (CA)
