COB moves to improve system

JUST TALKING A GOOD game at the annual general meeting (AGM) will not be enough to get a person elected to the board of this island’s second largest credit union.

City of Bridgetown Cooperative Credit Union (COB), with assets of nearly $400 million, has put measures in place to ensure that those who want to serve on its board of directors are of the highest integrity.

COB general manager Steve Belle told the WEEKEND NATION yesterday the financial institution was often seeking ways to “refine its processes and improve the credit union’s corporate governance practices”.
