THE EMPLOYMENT RIGHTS Tribunal today finally got down to the business of hearing cases.
But it was not the controversial retrenchment of about 200 employees of the National Conservation Commission – arguably its biggest case – which is getting the ERT’s attention.
The tribunal spent more than two hours hearing a wrongful dismissal case brought by former accounting firm KPMG employee Joel Leacock. Leacock worked with the agency for under two years.
His case is being heard by a three member panel of commissioners, headed by chairman Hal Gollop. The other commissioners are Ed Bushell and Beverley Beckles.
Gollop opened the hearing, saying it was a historic occasion and his team looked forward with enthusiasm to the journey ahead. (TY)
